Chocolate Sauce

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
12-ounce can evaporated milk
12 ounces (2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 tablespoons butter

In a 2-quart saucepan combine sugar, brown sugar and evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil, 4 to 6 minutes. Add chocolate chips; stir until melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in almond extract and butter. Serve over ice cream, cake and desserts. Store leftovers in refrigerator. Makes 3 cups.
