Mom made Orange-Nut cookies
Rebecca Petrie of Hagerstown grew up
in California and remembers the Orange-Nut Refrigerator Cookies
her mother made. The recipe is adapted from a 1948 Sunset Magazine.
"They're nice and simple. They're
not too fussy," she says.
Petrie's 6-year-old son, Max, will
be helping her this year. Petrie, a home economist, teaches Life
Skills at North Hagerstown High School, but that doesn't include
food. "Is cooking a life skill?" Petrie asks.
"I think it is," she says.
