Grandma's Ginger Cookies

 

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup shortening, melted in microwave
5 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon ginger
2 tablespoons cinnamon
3 eggs
1 cup Brer Rabbit molasses
1 cup boiling water with 1 tablespoon baking soda added
granulated sugar

Cream sugar and shortening. Add all other ingredients, alternating flour and water.

Chill over night. Shape into balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 9 minutes.
