Cinnamon Sticks

4 eggs
1 3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tablespoon cinnamon
5 cups flour
1 egg
water
cinnamon and sugar for sprinkling

Mix 3 eggs, 1 3/4 cups sugar, shortening, butter, 1 tablespoon cinnamon and flour into a smooth dough. Roll into rope shapes and cut to the desired length. Combine remaining egg with an equal amount of water, then brush mixture onto ropes. Mix together an equal portion of sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle mixture on top of ropes. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes to desired firmness.
